365 Days Later 🎗️
One year after the horrific October 7th Terror attacks and no words can explain the feeling of the last year and what it has done to every Jew on planet earth
Today marks one year since the devastating Hamas-ISIS terror attack on October 7th. That tragic morning, families woke up to observe one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar Simchat Torah (The Joy of Torah) ✡️ but instead of prayers and festivities, they were met with the sounds of rockets and gunfire—scenes that will forever haunt the survivors. At the Nova music festival, people were dancing as the sun rose, only to find themselves running for their lives moments later, as Hamas terrorists opened fire, committed horrific acts of violence, and took hostages.
Among the 101 still held captive are children, like one-year-old Ariel and five-year-old Kfir Bibas. It’s unfathomable that 101 Israeli are still held hostage and international community and media forgot all about them rather than demand their immediate and unconditional release. Shame on them all.
It has been 365 days since war erupted. Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice are remembered for their heroism and bravery on this day. Mothers weep, children scream for their fathers, mothers and wives mourn and gain strength to carry on.
Families in Northern Israel have been forced from their homes—100,000 people now refugees in their own country after Hezbollah joined the conflict, launching missiles at civilians along the Lebanese border. The entire northern border of Israel has been without its residents now for a year. Communities torn apart.
For many, this past year has felt like an eternity. The pain, loss, and hate are etched in our hearts. We mourn alongside the widows, children, and families of fallen soldiers, who gave everything. And the sacrifice and the bravery of the Israeli women doesn’t go unnoticed whether as civilians, soldiers, and police officers—Israeli women fought back. At home, they shouldered the impossible burden of keeping life moving forward for their children while living in constant fear of that knock on the door that would bring unbearable news. I pray for them every day. Their strength and resilience are a testament to the incredible spirit that shines through in times of darkness.
Over the last 365 days, I’ve parted ways with “friends,” but I’ve also found new family. I’ve learned that the people of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are one big family, united through both triumph and tragedy. Our history is filled with those who have risen against the Jewish people—only to find out a popular truth: FAFO (Find Out).
Here’s what I know after the past year:
Am Israel and the people of Israel are the most resilient on this planet.
The world that stood by during the Holocaust is the same today. Time has passed, but its silence remains.
Israel and the Jewish people must ensure our own security. We cannot depend on any foreign nation. We have stood alone before, and we stand alone again.
College campuses are no longer what they once were, and the Ivy Leagues have lost their way.
True leadership has been lost in today’s world. And any media integrity is nothing but a sham and I’ve long said the UN is useless.
You cannot negotiate with those who seek your destruction. It’s a harsh reality, but in the end, it’s either us or them. Ceasefires only give them time to regroup and strike again.
War is painful and long. It carries a heavy price. Every soldier, every civilian lost is a world shattered, a future erased, and a family broken. We are paying this price dearly.
One year ago, 1,200 civilians lost their lives—not for anything they did, but simply for being Jewish, in the one and only Jewish state. They were murdered in their homes, backyards, on the dance floor, in their cars, and even in Hamas tunnels. Each one was executed in cold blood by these evil monsters.
Today, I stand in solidarity with the families of the victims, with the hostages still held captive, and with the soldiers fighting for peace. I pray for a swift end to this war and for the dismantling of those who threaten the Jewish people.
Today, I stand tall. I do not tremble. I will not hide my Jewish identity. I am proud to be part of the oldest tribe on Earth—a people with a history of healing the world, advancing humanity, and embracing others as they are.
Today, I proclaim: Am Israel Chai 🇮🇱
